Chris Bayless Resigns As Cross Country Coach
May 4, 2004
Baltimore, Md. - Loyola College in Maryland announced the resignation of head track and cross country coach Chris Bayless today. Bayless, who led the Greyhounds in their inaugural women's track season this spring, leaves the school after three seasons as cross country coach.
"We thank Coach Bayless for all his efforts at Loyola," says Athletic Director Joe Boylan. "We wish him luck in his future coaching endeavors."
Bayless leaves behind a women's cross country program that won its first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship in the spring. He was also named the MAAC women's cross country Coach of the Year and his women's track team took fifth at the MAAC Championship meet last weekend. In 2002, Bayless led the women's cross country program to the Cross Country-Only National Championship.
"I'm leaving the program in very good standing with all the success that both cross country and track have had this past season," says Bayless. "I've enjoyed my time at Loyola, met some great people, but now it's time to move on."
