Cross Country Teams Conclude Season At NCAA Regional

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland cross country wrapped up its 2017 season Friday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Championships. The women's team finished 24th, while the men came in 26th.

Cordelia McGinn was the Greyhounds' top finisher, placing 40th on the women's side. The senior ran 21:07.7 on the 6,000-meter course.

Kayleigh Caggiano and Christina Daniels finished two seconds apart with the former taking 146th in 22:46.1 and the latter coming in 147th in 22:48.3.

Tara Ryan was just over 15 seconds behind Daniels, crossing the line in 155th after running 23:04.8. Courtney Wallace and Gabrielle Silvestri then placed 174th (23:43.8) and 176th (23:49.2), respectively. Audrey O'Neill (184th, 24:14.4) rounded out the women's finishers.

Alex Saffadi concluded his career with a 115th-place finish, leading the men's team with a time of 32:31.1 on the 10,000-meter course.

Alex Buchholz then crossed the line in 171st (34:52.0), and a group of five runners were between 174th and 179th places: Sam Miller (174th, 35:16.7), Tyler Schoch (175th, 35:29.7), John Miller (176th, 35:29.8), Colin Chandler (177th, 35:39.1) and Peter Butler (179th, 35:54.6).
