BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Cordelia McGinn finished 13th in the Paul Short Run Brown 6,000-meter race Friday afternoon, leading the Loyola University Maryland cross country teams at the highly-competitive national race.

The Greyhounds' senior ran 21:55 to lead Loyola to an 11th place finish in the competition. She was the top Patriot League finisher in the Brown race, edging Boston University's Courtney Breiner by one second.

"Our women did a great job of getting into the race and competing," said Head Coach Amy Horst. "They were much more aware of the race today versus last week. Cordelia did a great job of leading, and I am confident in her abilities come Patriot League Championships."

Christina Daniels was Loyola's second runner across the line, crossing in 22:32 to place 40th, while Tara Ryan was 65th overall in 23:03.

Gabrielle Silvestri ran 23:27 to place 89th, and Audrey O'Neill was right behind in 93rd (23:34) to round out the Greyhounds' scoring.

Courtney Wallace and Grace Jansson also competed for Loyola, placing 100th (23:48) and 113rd (24:17), respectively.

Alex Saffadi paced the Loyola men as the Greyhounds finished 17th in their version of the Brown 8,000-meter run. The senior finished 56th in 26:22. Brandon Rossi and Alex Buchholz finished within four spots of each other as Rossi took 80th (26:54) and Buchholz was 84th (27:00).

Tyler Schoch crossed the line in 100th (27:42), and Ben Hosford was 117th (27:58). Peter Butler was three seconds and one place behind Hosford, and John Miller rounded out the Greyhounds' group in 120th (28:10).

Loyola will be back in action on Friday, October 13, when the Greyhounds head to State College, Pennsylvania, for the Penn State National Open.
