Women's XC 5th, Men 7th At Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Jackie D'Antonio finished in ninth place, and Kiera Harrison was 15th, to lead the Loyola University Maryland women's cross country team to a fifth-place finish on Saturday at the U.S. Naval Academy's Salty Dog Invitational.
The host Midshipmen won the event with 29 points, closely followed by Johns Hopkins with 41. Malone took third with 101, while Maryland edged Loyola, 121-143. George Washington (145) and UMBC (149) rounded out the field on the women's side.
DJ Puleo was the top finisher for the Greyhound men, taking 24th overall, as the team finished seventh.
Navy again won the men's portion of the race with 34 points, followed by American (43) and Malone (76) in second and third. Johns Hopkins (104) and UMBC (106) rounded out the top five, while George Washington beat Loyola, 173-191, for sixth.
D'Antonio clocked a 6-kilometer time of 23:01, while Harrison finished nine seconds back.
Emily Rooney was Loyola's No. 3 finisher in 50th (24:25), and Anna Bosse took 63rd (24:25). Jessica Peters rounded out the Greyhounds' scoring in 81st (25:13), and Sara Gilson finished 92nd (25:26), while Mary DeGregorio was 95th (25:37).
Other finishers for the Greyhound women were Kelly Maguire (105th, 25:56), Erica Canas (108th, 26:04), Kellyanne Bondulich (111st, 26:15), Alyssa Dorney (113rd, 26:17), Elizabeth Sypek (115th, 26:38), Margaret Larkin (119th, 27:11) and Christina Bearden (123rd, 29:38).
For the men, Puleo recorded a time of 26;10 on the 8k course and was followed by Patrick Makles in 51st (27:44).
