In his first year at Loyola, the Greyhounds finished fourth at the MAAC Outdoor Conference Championships scoring a school record 94 points and finishing just eight points out of third place in the conference. For this accomplishment Head Coach Brett Harvey was awarded MAAC Coach of the Year honors.
All told the team rewrote nine outdoor school records and 13 indoor school records.
Harvey mentored four athletes to individual MAAC Runner-up finishes (Andrea Rovegno (5000m, 10000m), Eve Mizerak (100m), Paige Thomas (400m), Lisa Edwards (Indoor 55m dash).
In addition Rovegno qualified for the ECAC Championships indoors in the 1-mile run (4:58.37) and 3000m (9:56.40) and outdoors in the 5000m (17:10.60).
Before coming to Loyola, Harvey spent two years at American University as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator. During his time at American, the Eagles qualified for two NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Individually, Keira Carlstrom earned All-American Awards in Cross Country where she was 6th in 2005 and 17th in 2004 and in track at 5000m (9th , 2006).
Sean Duffy was 3rd in the 1500m in 3:38.4 at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships and Dustin Emrani was a qualifier at 800m (1:49.67).
The Eagles combined to break 28 school records during Harvey's two years there.
Harvey completed his undergraduate work at Lafayette College, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology and Sociology.
He was a four year letter-winner on the Leopards Track and Field teams and was a 3 time-IC4A Qualifier in the 4x800 relay. He holds personal bests of 50.10 (400m), 1:55.85 (800m) and 1:07.23 (500m).
Harvey is a Baltimore native, growing up in nearby Timonium and is a 2000 Dulaney High School graduate. He was a 4-time Baltimore County Champion and was 5th at the 2000 State High School 800m Championship.
