Jones Named To All-Patriot League Second Team

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland's Blest Jones became the Greyhounds first-ever All-Patriot League honoree in tennis, earning second team honors by a vote of the conference's coaches.
Last month, Jones became Loyola's all-time winningest singles player in just his third season on the Evergreen campus. He recorded his 67th individual victory on Monday, April 17, breaking the record of 66 set by John McConnell from 1999-2003.
Jones played both No. 1 singles for the Greyhounds this season, going 18-15 overall and 8-5 in Patriot League action. He also teamed with Brett Shriver at No. 1 doubles throughout the year, finishing 14-16 overall, 4-7 in the conference. He was the 'A' flight champion during the fall at the Patriot League Kickoff Tournament, as well.
During his three years at Loyola, Jones has helped the Greyhounds to 30 team victories, and he has posted a record of 17-12 in Patriot League matches. As a sophomore in 2015-2016, Jones set the Loyola single-season singles record with 32 victories.
Earlier this month, Jones was named the men's tennis team's Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row.
