CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland freshman Kateri Martin was named the Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday following her wins Sunday in the Greyhounds' non-conference victory over Monmouth University.

Martin, a first-year player from Darien, Connecticut, completed a straight-sets win in singles play and teamed with senior Amanda Lanciano to win a doubles match.

The Martin-Lanciano duo defeated Sophia Fredriksson and Maria Ivanova, 6-0, to claim the No. 1 doubles match and help Loyola secure the opening point of the afternoon.

Martin then went on to defeat Alexandra Graff, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles as Loyola completed a 7-0 sweep of Hawks.

The Greyhounds's men's and women's teams are back in action on Wednesday, March 14, when they travel to nearby Morgan State University for 3:30 p.m. matches.
