Loyola University Maryland's Keishi Goto won four matches and claimed the championship of the `C' singles flight on Sunday at the 20th-annual Hampton Roads Invitational at Huntington Park.
Goto topped two of his teammates on his road to the title, defeating Ryan McFarland, 8-2, in the semifinal, and Alex Castro by the same margin in the championship match.
The event saw some brackets shortened due to rain, but Loyola fared well in all flights.
Harrison Kunkel outlasted Shepherd's Michael Lesko, 9-8, in the `A' flight consolation semifinals to reach the final match. Connor Pietrak and Bobby Gorczakowski both got to the `A' quarterfinals.
Jordan Kuchta and Greg Olesnycky advanced to the `B' consolation final. Kuchta got by Steven Kolumban, 8-3, in the semifinal, while Olesnycky edged Hampden-Sydney's Zack King, 8-4, in the same round.
On the women's side, Scarlett Hoy reached the `B' flight consolation final, dropping Audra Bell of Howard, 8-1, in the semifinal.
Haleigh Morgus got through to the consolation final, beating Ashley Delaney of George Mason in the semifinal, 8-4. Megan Hahn advanced to the quarterfinals of the championship side of the bracket.
Emily Hughes and Olivia Ott both got through to the `C' championship semifinals, while Gabriella DeCarvalho made it to the `D' quarterfinals.
