WASHINGTON, D.C. - Loyola University Maryland men's tennis opened its 2013-2014 dual-match schedule with a 6-1 victory over host Catholic University of America on Thursday afternoon.

The Greyhounds won the doubled point and then took five of the six singles matches in the win.

Harrison Kunkel and Connor Lisco lost a close, 8-6, match in the No. 1 doubles contest against Catholic's Juan Lorida and Brian Bradley, but Greg Olesnycky and Jordan Kuchta topped the Cardinals' Joe Peters and Jason Quisberth, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles.

Connor Pietrak and Alex Castro wrapped up the in doubles point with an 8-2 victory over Rocky Albogonic and Joe Trinity.

In singles play, Kunkel used a super-tiebreaker third-set win to edge Bradley, 4-6, 6-3 (2), at No. 2 singles, and Lisco beat Peters, 6-2, 6-2, in the third slot.

Olesnycky soundly won the No. 4 singles match, 6-0, 6-1, over Quisberth, and Max Shanbrom used extra points to beat Albogbonic, 7-5, 7-5, at No. 5 singles. Castro logged a 6-1, 6-0, win over Trinity, at No. 6, to complete the win.
