Hahn Wins Bucknell Invitational Draw For 2nd-Straight Year

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland sophomore Megan Hahn won the Women's Flight "A" Singles draw at the Bucknell Invitational for the second year in a row, capping the title with a super-tiebreaker victory over Bucknell's Maria Cioffi.
Hahn beat Bucknell's Elena Vidrascu in straight-sets to open play at the tournament before topping Rafaela Panizza of Saint Francis (Pa.) in the semifinals.
The Rockville, Md., native then dispatched Cioffi, 6-1, 4-6, (10-8) in the championship match.
Her classmate Haleigh Morgus won a pair of matches in the Flight "B" Singles draw before falling 6-4, 6-7, (10-2) to Bucknell's Michele Urbinati in the flight's title match. Morgus defeated Saint Francis' Lucy Jasso and Bucknell's Charlotte Clegg in the first round and semifinals, respectively.
Freshman Ania Krawlec beat Colgate's Kaelin Brittin, 4-6, 6-2, (10-7) in the first round of the "B" draw before falling in straight-sets to Urbinati.
Olivia Ott was a 6-2, 6-1 first-round winner against Saint Francis' Dani Gryckiewicz in the Flight "C" Singles Draw before falling to Bucknell's Lydia Covin in the semifinals.
Hahn and Ott were 8-2 winners over a Saint Francis doubles team in the "A" draw of that flight before losing to Coffi and Vidrascu in the semifinals.
In men's action at the invitational, Greg Olesnycky won three matches in the Flight "B" Singles flight before falling, 6-4, 6-4, to Colgate's Nick Laub in the championship match. Olesnycky used a 14-12 super-tiebreaker win over Saint Francis' Rodrigo Tico in the semifinals to move on into the final match.
Freshman Matt Bejian advanced to the consolation final of the "B" singles bracket, winning a pair of matches. Fellow freshman Max Shanbrom won his first match, 6-0, 6-2, in the Flight "C" bracket before losing in the Round of 16. Another first-year player Conor Skelton also won his first "C" singles match.
