Villanova Edges Tennis Teams On Sunny Saturday

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University women’s tennis won two singles matches in three sets and another in a two-set decision where both frames went to tiebreakers, to slip past Loyola University Maryland, 4-3, on Saturday.
The Wildcats men then topped the Greyhounds, 5-2.
Loyola’s women earned the doubles point behind victories in the No. 2 and 3 flights. Katelyn Hissong and Ania Krawiec beat Kate Pette and Linley Busby, 8-5, in the No. 2 match, while Haleigh Morgus and Emily Hughes teamed to top Connor Brewer and Samantha Schafer, 8-2.
Megan Hahn then earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles over Mikelle Mancini, and Hughes beat Brewer, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6. The Wildcats, however, won the second through fifth singles slots for the team victory.
