The Loyola University Maryland men and women's tennis teams split matches with Hampton University on Tuesday, as the men lost 4-3 and the women won 7-0. 

The men's squad (5-2, 0-1 MAAC) battled hard up to the last singles match Tuesday afternoon at Butler Courts, but fell to the Pirates. In doubles, the Pirates took two of the three matches. Jordan Kuchta and Alex Castro handed Hampton the first loss in doubles, winning 8-2. 

In singles, the six matches were split giving the Pirates the upper hand. Senior Bobby Gorczakowski and Freshmen Connor Pietrak and Alex Castro all won their singles matches. Gorczakowski and Castro both went to extra sets battling out their victories. 

The women's squad (4-1, 0-1 MAAC) put on a show as the Greyhounds swept the Pirates Tuesday afternoon, 7-0. Teamed up in doubles - Emily Hughes/Haleigh Morgus, Megan Hahn/Olivia Ott, and Scarlett Hoy/Tiffany Ash - all won their matches by a comfortable distance, 8-2, 8-1, 8-0, respectively. 

In singles, #1 Megan Hahn stood out with a solid 6-0, 6-0, victory helping lead Loyola to their fourth win of the season. 

Both teams are back on Butler Courts Saturday, March 23 as they get set for two dual matches. For the morning, the Greyhounds will battle it out with Colgate University with a start time of 9 a.m. Following the first match, they continue play as Maryland Eastern Shore makes their way to Baltimore for a 3 p.m. start.
