The Greyhounds hosted the Loyola Men's Tennis Invitational Sept. 18-20, 2015.
Loyola dedicated the McClure Tennis Center on April 11, 2015.
2016-2017 (Junior): Became Loyola’s career leader in singles wins on April 17 against Rider, logging the 67th victory of his career… First Greyhounds player to earn All-Patriot League honors, garnering second team recognition… Voted the team’s Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row… Won the ‘A’ Flight singles bracket at the Patriot League Kickoff Invitational in the fall and was also a doubles finalist with classmate Brett Shriver… Won four singles matches at the St. Joseph’s Invitational to win the ‘A’ flight consolation… Had 18 singles wins at No. 1, going 9-5 against Patriot League opponents… Added a team-leading 14 doubles victories with Shriver at the top pairs slot.
2015-2016 (Sophomore): Record setting second season for the Greyhounds as he shattered the previous mark of 23, for the most all-time Loyola singles wins a season held by a John McConnell 1999-03 and Bobby Gorczakowski 2009-13, with an outstanding 32 victories at the number 5 spot in the line-up: he won 15 matches in a row and 22 of 23… he has 49 victories in 2 years teamed with classmate Brett Shriver at number 1 doubles and won an impressive 15 matches at the top spot… they reached the “A” Flight quarters at the Bucknell Invitational and won 2 of 4 match at the first Loyola Invitational… had a great 7-6 (6) tie breaker wins vs. Navy to clinch the doubles point in our spring match.
2014-2015 (Freshman): Outstanding first season for the Greyhounds as he amassed the most singles wins on the team with a 17-7 record, 3-3 against Patriot League foes, in the number five spot... Reached the singles quarterfinals of the "B" flight at the Bucknell Invitational... Then went 4-0 at the Villanova Invitational and won the "C" Flight singles bracket at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational.
Before Loyola: Was a member of the USTA National Tennis Circuit as a high school student at Abeka Academy in Washington, D.C.... Was the Maryland State Boys' Champion for in the 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s age groups... Was a member of the USTA National Spring Team Championship squad and a Gold Ball Recipient.
Personal: Blest Bernardus Jones... Son of Charlota and Quintin Jones... Has a younger brother, Justice... Member of the A+ Honor Roll all four years of high school with a grade-point average of 3.95... Participated in the "Game On" Community Service project and the First Tee Leadership Program... Member of the Youth and Young Adult Choir and the International Ministry... Is a talented singer, songwriter and composer who plays the piano and has recorded music... His grandfather, Timothy Jones, was a professional middleweight boxer in the 1950s.
