Coan Wins Second Gold Of World Para Swimming Championships

McKenzie Coan has won two gold medals at the 2017 World Para Swimming Championships in Mexico City.

MEXICO CITY - Loyola University Maryland’s McKenzie Coan earned her second gold medal in as many races at the 2017 World Para Swimming Championships, taking the title in Monday night’s S7 50-meter freestyle.

Coan finished in 32.75 seconds to edge Germany’s Denise Grahl in the final. The Loyola senior was 66-hundredths of a second faster than Grahl’s time.

On Saturday, Coan won gold in the S7 100-meter freestyle for the United States. She will be back in action in the 50-meter butterfly on Tuesday, December 5, and she wraps up her program Wednesday in the 400-meter freestyle.
