Greyhounds Host Lafayette, Seton Hall Saturday

The Loyola University Maryland swimming and diving team will host Lafayette and Seton Hall at the Mangione Athletic Complex on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Loyola opened the fall season against George Mason and Navy on Saturday, Oct. 5. The Greyhounds’ men fell to the Patriots, 172-128, and the Midshipmen, 162-124. The women hosted a dual meet with Navy, falling 208-89.
Individually, junior Brennan Morris was named the MAAC Swimmer of the Week after winning all three of his individual events at the meet. A two-time MAAC Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Year, Morris won the 1000-yard freestyle (9:23.45), the 200-yard backstroke (1:49.92) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:31.53).
On the women’s side, sophomore Caitlin Cronin picked up three top-three finishes. The Kingston, Mass., native finished runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.20) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.85), while earning a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (24.94).
In addition, freshman Joe Wise set a new Paralympic record in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing 13th in 2:12.51.
Following this weekend, Loyola will host Johns Hopkins and St. Francis in a tri-meet on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5.
