Wise Finishes Fifth In Finals of 400m Free At Paralympic Games

LONDON - Loyola University Maryland swimmer Joe Wise, swimming for Team USA at the 2012 Paralympic Games, finished fifth in the finals of the 400m freestyle (S10) race at the Aquatics Centre.
Team USA teammate Ian Silverman - coached in London by Loyola head coach Brian Loeffler - claimed gold with a time of 4:04.91, while Canada's Benoit Huot took silver (4:06.58) and Great Britain's Robert Welbourn won the bronze medal with a time of 4:08.18. Brazil's Andre Brasil, the 2008 champion and Paralympic Record Holder, was fourth, clocking in at 4:11.23, while Wise touched fifth in 4:15.66.
The event marked the fourth of five individual events for Wise, competing in his second Paralympic Games. He will be back in the pool on Saturday to conclude his competition at the Games in the 100m breaststroke (SB9).
