Boston, Mass. - The Loyola men's and women's swimming and diving teams concluded competition at the ECAC Championships with several championship finalists in Boston, Mass. Sunday's results left both the men and women with Top-10 finishes at the meet.

The women picked up 195.5 points and placed seventh overall while the men scored 159 points en route to a ninth-place finish. Harvard won both the men's and women's competition while MAAC foe Marist took second on both sides.

Junior Megen Hadley was one of three women's swimmers to score points in the 1650-yard freestyle, leading the way with her championship final time of 17:46.86. Hadley took sixth in the race while freshman Megan Shovlin (15th) and sophomore Clare Ostrom (16th) picked up consolation finalist points.

The women also had three consolation finalists in the 200-yard backstroke with freshman Melissa White taking 11th (2:10.07), Victoria Kamauff placing 12th (2:11.82) and Mary Jane Pijanowski placing 15th overall.

On the men's side, junior Doug Alban earned a sixth-place finish in the 1650-yard freesyle and a 13th-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke. Alban swam a 16:53.63 in the 1650 Free and a time of 1:58.55 in the 200 Back.

The Greyhounds also had consolation finalists in the 1650 with Ian Perazzelli's eight-place showing and freshman Greg Thomasson's ninth-place finish in the event.

 

 

The Reeser brothers garnered championship points in the 100-yard freestyle with senior Ryan Reeser taking seventh (47.09) and freshman Brad Reeser taking 15th (47.58). Ernest Verrico finished 14th in the 200-yard breaststroke and Patrick Hicks placed 15th to round out Loyola's individual scoring.
