BALTIMORE - Five Greyhounds were victorious on Saturday, but the Loyola University Maryland men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams fell to La Salle at Mangione Pool.

Seniors Elle Mixa and Erin Shea, in addition to junior Ruslan Kopunek and sophomore Lizzie McKenna, all won two events, while senior Caitlin Cronin won one.

Mixa swept the diving events for a fifth time this season, recording a winning mark of 246.15 on the 1-meter boards. She won 3-meter diving with a score of 243.22.

In the pool, Shea touched first in the 100 fly in 58.78 and the 200 IM in 2:11.92, while Kopunek won the 50 free (21.45) and the 100 free (47.68). McKenna was victorious in both the 100 back (1:00.27) and 200 back (2:09.85).

Cronin rounded out the Greyhounds with first-place finishes, winning her third 200 free this season in 1:54.80.

La Salle’s women won the meet, 156-143, while the Explorers’ men were also victorious, 223-74.

Loyola will return to the pool for one final home meet next weekend. The Greyhounds men will host NJIT and the women will host Mount St. Mary’s on Friday at 5 p.m.
