Final Stats

BALTIMORE - Loyola's men's swimming and diving team took Delaware to the wire before falling 130-113 while the Greyhound women came up short against the Blue Hens as well, losing 136.50-101.50, in a non-conference showdown Saturday afternoon at Loyola's Fitness and Aquatic Center (FAC).

The men's contest wasn't decided until the final race of the day where Delaware managed to record a victory in the 400 Free Relay (3:23.22) by just .22 seconds and clinch the meet.

Despite the tough loss, Loyola received two outstanding individual performances from junior Marko Turcinov and freshman Ryan Reeser, both of whom won three races each.

Turcinov triumphed in the 200 Free (1:47.86), the 200 IM (1:54.91), and the 200 Fly (1:52.80) as Reeser mowed down his competition in the 50 Free (22.22), the 100 Free (48.35), and the 500 Free (4:50.79).

On the women's side, Loyola saw freshman Megan Sterback win the 3-meter diving event (201.30) and freshman Nori Skoda win the 200 Breast (2:30.92).

The Greyhound men's record now stands at 7-4 while the women's team record drops to 9-4 on the season.

Both Loyola teams return to action on Saturday, January 31st at 1 p.m. when they head down York Road to do battle with local rival, Towson University.
