Mixa Breaks School Diving Record In Dual Meet At Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland senior Elle Mixa broke the school record in 1-meter diving and qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships on Saturday in a dual meet at Lehigh.
Mixa won her fifth 1-meter board title this season with a personal-best score of 266.92, replacing Megan Sterback’s 255.23-point performance from 2006 atop the program’s record board. Mixa also won 3-meter diving with a score of 243.23, marking the fourth time this season she’s swept the boards.
Classmate Victoria Arturi finished runner-up to Mixa on both platforms, recording a score 208.34 on the 1-meter boards and a score of 214.87 on the 3-meter boards.
On the men’s side, senior Michael Brown also swept the boards for the third time this season, recording 282.97 points in 1-meter competition and 267.08 points on the 3-meter boards.
In the pool, freshman Aidan O’Hara won his second 100 back event, out-touching Lehigh’s Sean Brant by three-hundredths of a second. O’Hara clocked in at 53.32, while Brant finished in 53.36.
Lehigh swept the meet, with the Mountain Hawks handing the Greyhound women their first loss of the season, 192-102, and the men a 216-78 loss.
Loyola will be back in action next weekend when it returns home to host La Salle on Saturday at 1 p.m.
