Maureen Theis is in her second season as the Greyhounds' diving coach after a stellar career at St. Bonaventure University.
Prior to Loyola, Theis was a member of the St. Bonaventure swimming and diving team from 2000 to 2004. As a senior captain, she was named the 2004 Atlantic 10 Conference Diver of the Year after capturing the gold medal in the three-meter diving event by scoring 397.90 points, which was the best mark in the conference that season. She also posted 225.80 points on the one-meter board to earn the silver medal at the conference meet. Earlier in the season, Theis set the conference high with a score of 264.53 points in the one-meter diving event.
In addition to qualifying for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships as a senior, Theis was awarded the SBU Letterwinner Award, which is presented to a senior man and woman who have achieved outstanding individual athletic accomplishments while significantly contributing to their team's success.
A former gymnast of 10 years, Theis converted to competitive diving during her senior year of high school.
Theis earned her bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure in Elementary and Special Education and is pursuing a Master's degree in School Counseling from Loyola. She resides in Baltimore.
