Crews Conclude Fall Season At Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta

WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Loyola University Maryland men’s and women’s rowing teams closed out the 2015 fall season at the 42nd-annual Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta Sunday afternoon at Mercer Lake.

For the second-straight race, the women’s novice eight boat of Natasha Lobo, Mia Gioia, Rhys Schueren, Corinne Conyngham, Meaghan Kaiser, Claudia Fleshman, Stephanie Petrone, Kristyn Rooney and coxswain Hana You took first in their respective race. The Greyhounds finished nearly 48 seconds ahead of second-place Binghamton University, recording a time of 8:21.00.

Earlier in the afternoon, Lilly Lane, Conyngham, Gioia, Alyssa Voli and You, finished third in the novice four race with a time of 8:54.53.

Two varsity women’s four boats competed, with the A crew (Eleni Papadatos, Natasha Murray, Lauren Howe, Keenan Gibbons and cox Serena Rivera) taking third in 8:12.69 and the B crew (Glennith Capone, Kristin Wawrzynski, Sara Wilton, Nona Sharp and coxswain Tara Villaruel) finishing fifth in 8:58.16.



On the men’s side, Loyola took fourth in a pair of varsity four races. In the second flight, the A boat of Robert Moore, Patrick Bohen, John Dougherty, Liam Marmo and coxswain Patrick Flynn crossed the finish line in 7:18.39, while Ryan Brown, Ryan Scott, David Dukenik, Joseph Yacobucci and cox Rachel Yuhas finished the first flight in 7:30.08.

The two varsity four boats combined to race in the men’s eight. The Greyhounds came in fourth with a time of 6:48.26.

In flight one of the men’s novice eight race, JT Ellis, Bailey Myers, Naiem Waroich, Daniel Lecce, Julian Pagan, Jamie Murphy, Dom Abril, Ryan Moy and coxswain Emma Sharon took fourth in 8:26.09. In the second flight, Ryan Elliott, Erik Magnuson, Jacob Landis, Nick Trautwein, Kunle’ Soniregun, Chris Rynne, Nicholas Perrotta, Brandon Hutchinson and cox Mike Russo finished third with a time of 6:50.35.
