Novice-8's Perform Well At Head of Occoquan

OCCOQUAN, VA - Loyola's men's and women's rowing teams posted solid performances against some very tough crews at Saturday's Head of the Occoquan Regatta held on the Occoquan River.
The Greyhound men's novice-eight crew recorded Loyola's best finish of the day, coming in fourth place out of 17 teams with a time of 16:43 and defeating the University of Maryland, UMBC and American University among others.
Loyola's women's novice-eight also rowed well, taking 12th of 29 teams with their time of 19:35, defeating a number of high-powered crews along the way.
The women's championship-eight boat grabbed eighth out of 14 teams, the men's champ-eight took ninth place with a time of 15:56, the women's champ-four took 16th place, the men's novice-four took sixth, and the women's novice-four took ninth place.
