WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - Loyola University Maryland’s men’s varsity four crew and a women’s pair boat competed on Saturday at the IRA Championships on Mercer Lake.

The Greyhounds men’s crew of Patrick Flynn (coxswain), Robert Moore, Ryan Brown, Victor Santiago and John Dougherty, came in third of four boats in the fifth final. Loyola edged Fairfield University’s entry by 37-hundredths of a second, finishing in 6:56.510 to the Stags’ 6:56.880.

Loyola’s women’s pair of Corinne Conyngham and Megan Rabenberg opened their weekend at the Championships with two Saturday races. The duo took fourth in their opening race, but they then shaved nearly 18 seconds off their time in the afternoon’s repêchage.

Conyngham and Rabenberg will compete on Sunday in the petite final against Oklahoma City University. The race is slated to start shortly after 10 a.m.
