CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The men's lightweight four stroked the fastest time of the year leading the Loyola University Maryland crew teams in the final day of the 2014 Knecht Cup.

"Overall we saw good improvements throughout the racing crews," said Head Coach Al Ramirez. "The men's lightweight four showed promise as a championship lineup."

Walter Horan, Robert Moore, Theodore Fortier and Craig MacAdams finished fifth in the highly competitive grand final race. The boat clocked a race time of 7:07.19, nearly .14 seconds from a fourth-place finish ahead of George Mason University.

The varsity four of Craig Spicer, Joe Wawrzynski, Filip Zigic, Bryan Carney and coxswain Patrick Flynn couldn't find the rhythm from yesterday, taking fifth ahead of Boston College with a time of 7:14.46.

Eleni Papadatos tabbed the best finish of the morning, taking second in the women's single. The sophomore battled in a dead-even race with Villanova, ultimately taking second by about .5 seconds. She made up a slight deficit heading into the final 250m, crossing the finish line in 9:46.16.

Up next, the Greyhounds head to Philadelphia on Saturday, April 19, to compete in the Kerr Cup.
