Camden, N.J. - Loyola's women's varsity four grabbed third place at the Jesuit Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a time of 8:32.30 en route to defeating Atlantic-10 Conference power Saint Joseph's and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rival Fairfield.

The Greyhounds fell to Boston College and Holy Cross by just eight seconds.

Loyola's women's novice eight also rowed well as they took fourth with a time of 8:19.70. The Greyhounds found themselves caught in a three-way battle for second-place with BC and St. Joe's before BC pulled away to finish at 8:05.10 and the Hawks outsprinted Loyola to take third at 8:17.00. Georgetown cruised to the victory, but the Greyhounds defeated Fairfield and Holy Cross handily.

The Greyhound men's freshman performed well as they finished within 11 seconds of BC and over four seconds ahead of Fairfield.

Loyola's men's varsity eight rowed essentially the same line-up as last spring except for freshman Dan Reardon. The Greyhounds made up ground technique-wise, but fell to Georgetown, St. Joe's, and Holy Cross.
