BALTIMORE – On the first day of the 14th annual Morgan State University Legacy Meet at Hughes Stadium, sophomore Courtney Wallace earned a third-place finish in the 3000-steeplechase for the Loyola University Maryland track team on Friday.
Wallace finished with a time of 12:17.92 as she finished behind Abby Gauthier of Towson (11:11.68) and Kiera Lyons of Catholic (11:53.54).
Wallace was the lone Greyhound competing on Friday. The Legacy Meet resumes on Saturday and Loyola will have 36 entries in 11 events.
Action gets underway at 10 a.m. and the last event is scheduled for 4:35 p.m.
While Wallace was competing at the Legacy Invitational, senior Cordelia McGinn ran the 1500-meter run at Princeton University’s Larry Ellis Invitational. McGinn, who won the 1500-meter run at the Rider Invitational earlier this month, turned in a time of 4:37.30 to finish 45th in a talented field of runners.
