Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola volleyball team is back in action at Reitz Arena this weekend hosting Rider and Saint Peter's. The Broncs (9-15, 2-12 MAAC) face the Greyhounds on Saturday at 2 p.m. and the Peahens (12-16, 6-8 MAAC) visit Sunday for a 2 p.m. match up.
After coming off a tough weekend of conference action, Loyola (6-23, 2-12 MAAC) hopes to lead this last stretch of home events with great offensive play. Senior Christina Greenup led the Greyhounds in kills at both Marist and Siena, posting 13 and 16 respectively. Greenup also posted her second double-double in four matches against the Saints. Junior setter Kristen Muscarella had 33 of the team's 38 assists against the Red Foxes at Marist.
The Greyhounds face Rider for the first time this season in conference play. After dropping to both Manhattan and Siena last weekend, the Broncs extend their losing streak to five. Sophomore Amanda Piccolini managed to post eight digs and 13 assists, including career assist number 1,000 in the match against Manhattan.
In the last meeting with Saint Peter's in October, the Greyhounds were swept on the road. On the offensive side, sophomore outside hitter Nina Camaioni led the team with seven kills and nine points. For the Peahens, sophomore Kim Mendoza proved to be an offensive threat, hitting .429 with 13 kills in the match.
