BALTIMORE, Md. - Freshman setter Marcellee Williams has been named as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) volleyball Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 23, it has been announced by conference officials.
Williams averaged 9.42 assists per game in three matches for the Greyhounds last week, including a 50-assist effort against Lafayette in a five-game victory over the Leopards. She also added seven kills in the three matches and had a .222 hitting percentage.
Williams ranks fifth in the MAAC in assists per game, averaging 9.09 per game for the Greyhounds. Her 9.36 assists per game average in conference matches ranks fourth in the league.
Now 6-17 on the season, the Greyhounds return to action on Wednesday night when they host the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore in Reitz Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m. Loyola travels to Fairfield and Iona this weekend to resume MAAC play.
