EDISON, N.J. - Loyola University Maryland junior libero Janet Pressler was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Confernece Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after helping the Greyhounds to a season-high mark in digs on Saturday.
Pressler had 23 digs in just three sets as the Greyhounds swept Rider in MAAC action. The Greyhounds had 76 digs, eclipsing their previous total of 73 set in a five-set contest with Siena.
Pressler, who also had two aces against the Broncs, leads the Greyhounds with 235 digs despite not taking over as the libero until after the first weekend and missing four matches with an early-season injury. Since taking over as the team's libero, she has posted 10 or more digs in 12 of 14 matches.
The Greyhounds continue MAAC action on Saturday when they take on two-time defending conference champion Niagara at 2 o'clock. They continue their swing through the Buffalo area on Sunday at 2 o'clock against Canisius.
