BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland Athletics is excited to announce that the Radisson Cross Keys of Baltimore has agreed to serve as the presenting sponsor of this weekend's Greyhound Volleyball Challenge. The Radisson Cross Keys Greyhound Volleyball challenge begins Friday, Sept. 6 at Reitz Arena when Delaware takes on UMBC at 4:30 p.m.
"We are thrilled to have a hotel such as the Radisson Cross Keys involved with our tournament," third-year Loyola head coach Jake Lawrence said. "Their close proximity to our campus and their newly renovated property will provide our visiting teams with a convenient location and comfortable amenities. We are grateful for their support."
Loyola makes its 2013 home debut in the tournament's second match, hosting La Salle at 7 p.m. Friday. Saturday's schedule gets underway at 11:30 a.m. when Delaware takes on La Salle. That match is followed by Loyola vs. UMBC at 2 p.m., UMBC facing La Salle at 4:30 and the host Greyhounds matching up against Delaware at 7.
The Greyhounds opened their season last weekend at the Appalachian State Invitational, going 1-2. They defeated Norfolk State, 3-2, and fell to Sam Houston State, 3-1, and Appalachian State, 3-0.
