Camaioni Named MAAC Co-Preseason Player of the Year

EDISON, N.J. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference volleyball coaches selected Loyola University Maryland senior Nina Camaioni as Co-Preseason Player of the Year with the release of its preseason coaches' poll on Tuesday. The poll also ranked Loyola sixth in the league.

This year marks the first Preseason Player of the Year selection and second Preseason All-MAAC Team honor for Nina Camaioni (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown), who was named to the All-MAAC First Team after the end of last season. Camaioni, one of the team's three captains in 2010, holds the Loyola single-season kills record and stands 321 kills short of the school career record. Camaioni finished last season second overall in the MAAC in kills (4.49) and points (4.85).

Camaioni shares the Preseason Player of the Year honor with Michelle James of Niagara.Loyola received 57 points in the poll to rank sixth, one shy of Iona's 58 points at the fifth spot. Niagara leads the poll.
