Jessica Bensley Named Assistant Volleyball Coach

BALTIMORE, Md. - Former Villa Julie College standout Jessica Bensley has been named as an assistant volleyball coach at Loyola College, it has been announced by Greyhound Coach Kristina Hernandez.

A 2006 graduate of Villa Julie, Bensley ended her career with 991 kills, including a team-high 460 kills during her senior season. A two-time first-team All-North East Athletic Conference selection, Bensley was named as the conference's Player of the Year last season. In addition, she served as a two-year captain of the squad and was named as the school's Most Outstanding Female Athlete last year.

"Jessica is very passionate about the game and knows how to work hard," Hernandez said. "She is an upstanding individual and is someone with honesty, integrity and loyalty. I am excited about having her on our staff."

In addition to her talents on the court, Bensley has served as an assistant coach for the TimeOut Volleyball Club since 2004.

The Greyhounds open the 2006 season on August 25 at the TCU Tournament against TCU, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, South Carolina and Boise State.
