Baltimore, Md. - Loyola head volleyball coach Kristina Hernandez released her squads 2005 schedule that includes early season tournaments at George Mason, Cal-Poly and UNC-Charlotte as well as 11 home contests.
"We have some great tournaments that we are going to this year with great competition," said Hernandez. "I know they will definitely help us prepare for our conference schedule."
The Greyhounds, who finished the 2004 season with a record of 10-18, start the 2005 season facing UMBC, Seton Hall and George Mason at the Patriots Tournament from September 2-3. After hosting Copping State on the 6th, Loyola travels to the west coast to take part in Cal-Poly's Tournament September 9-10. For their second home game of the season, Loyola hosts Howard on September 13 and then travels to UNC-Charlotte for their final tournament of the regular season. Other home contests include: Morgan State (September 29), Towson (October 4), UMBC (October 11), Manhattan (October 22), Saint Peter's (October 23), UMES (October 26), Siena (November 5), Marist (November 6), Navy, (November 10).
"Our schedule is a little tougher than last year's but I know we are up for it and that it will only make us stronger for our conference games," Hernandez said.
