March 15, 2006

BALTIMORE, Md. - Sophomore right side Kim Burton has transferred from Montgomery County Community College to Loyola College and will play volleyball for the Greyhounds, it has been announced by Coach Kristina Hernandez.

A 2004 graduate of Walt Whitman High School, Burton played two seasons at Montgomery County and was named as the team's most valuable player. As a senior at Walt Whitman, she led the team in kills and blocks. She was also a two-time all-county selection and team most valuable player.

"Kim joins us as an outside and right side hitter with excellent passing skills and a strong block," Hernandez said. "She will add depth to the right side attack and we are looking forward to seeing her continued development over this spring season."

The Greyhounds finished the 2005 season with a 7-25 record.
