Women's Volleyball Sends Three To U.S. National Team Tryouts

Feb. 22, 2005

Colorado Springs, Colo. - Loyola volleyball players Jamie Arndt, Becky Corb and Blair Snyder head to Colorado Springs, Colo. for the 2005 USA Women's National Team Open Tryouts this weekend. The trio, which led Loyola to 10 wins in the fall, will vie for a team spot at the U.S. Olympic Training Center from Friday, February 25 to Sunday February 27.

Corb led the Greyhounds with 434 kills last season as well as service aces with 31. Arndt led the team with 415 digs and added 116 kills while Snyder finished the year with 199 kills and a team-best 54 blocks.

"I definitely think the tryouts will be a good experience for them," says Loyola Head Coach Kristina Hernandez. "They are really excited about it and I wish them the best of luck."

As well as training directly with the National Team and National Training Team members, tryout participants will be eligible to be participating members of the National Team during the summer months, if the National Team Staff so desires. These athletes will not be considered a "team," but will be part of the National Training Team and will be projected to be involved in at least one competition during their term of participation.

All sessions of the tryout will be closed to the general public. Here is a list of the 2005 USA Women's National Team Open Tryout Participants (By Position)
