HAMILTON, N.Y. - Jane Lukas had a match-high 13 kills for Loyola University Maryland, and Mindy Maloney tallied six in her final collegiate match, but Colgate University downed the Greyhounds, 25-18, 25-23, 25-20 in the Greyhounds' final match of the season.
Colgate (15-11 overall, 9-7 Patriot League) led the entire first and third sets, but the second featured 14 tie scores and five lead changes.
Back-to-back kills by Lukas in the second gave Loyola (2-27, 0-16) a 16-11 advantage, and after the teams traded sideouts, an Anna Eckstein service ace made it 18-12 Greyhounds. Colgate battled back to score four in a row to pull within a pair.
Maloney had a kill, and Colgate attack error gave Loyola 20 points in the set and a four-point advantage, but the Raiders had another run. This time, they scored four unanswered to tie the score at 20-all on a Kenzie Hume kill.
Molly Cichosz sided out for the Greyhounds with a kill, but it was Loyola's last lead as Colgate quickly scored two-straight.
Cichosz finished with seven kills in the match, and Micah Duzey had a match-best 15 digs.
