BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland closed the 2011 volleyball season on Sunday afternoon with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-15 loss to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season, Niagara University, in Reitz Arena.

Jac Bullock posted a team-best 10 kills, and Tina Catanach added nine for the Greyhounds, who closed the year with an 8-23 overall record, 5-13 in the league.

Loyola led early in the first set, but Nigara built a three-point lead, 15-12, on a Kathy Bibler kill. The Greyhounds, however, cut it back to one, 17-16, when Faye Lukas and Mindy Maloney blocked a swing by Bibler.

Niagara (23-8, 17-1) built its advantage back to three, 20-17, and then after a Lauren Arnold kill brought it back to two, the Purple Eagles scored five of the set's last six points.

The Purple Eagles never trailed in the second or third sets, closing out the match.

Ellen Senf led all players with 13 kills for Niagara. She hit .650 with no errors in 20 attempts. Kari Honomichl added 11 kills, and Sam Morgan had 15 digs.

Janet Pressler finished the match with 15 digs for the Greyhounds, and Katie Dircks added 11.
