BUFFALO, N.Y. - Despite a team-high 15 kills and 17 digs from senior outside hitter Becky Corb , the Greyhound volleyball team (7-24, 1-7) dropped its seventh straight match with a four-game loss to Canisius College (9-17, 3-6) in the Golden Griffins' season finale at Koessler Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Griffins, who snapped a five-match losing streak with the victory, ended the season in winning fashion by scores of 31-29, 30-28, 20-30 and 30-24.
Corb recorded double-digit kills for the eighth straight match as she was one of three Loyola players to register a double-double performance. Junior Blair Snyder added 11 kills and 11 digs while freshman Marcellee Williams contributed 40 assists and 10 digs for her 13th double-double of the season.
Four Canisius players recorded double-digit kills in the victory, including juniors Mary Boller and Aislinn Hayes, who each had 16 kills in the victory. Hayes also added 13 digs for the Golden Griffins for her team-leading 13th double-double effort of the year, while Jess Stackhouse had a team-high 14 digs.
Junior Leigh Launhardt chipped in with 15 kills, two solo blocks and six block assists while freshman Morgan Ammons tallied 11 kills with an assist and five digs.
The Greyhounds conclude the 2005 season on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Niagara University for a 2:00 p.m. match against the Purple Eagles.
