Lawrenceville, N.J. - The Loyola College volleyball team swept Rider University in three games Thursday night at Alumni Gymnasium in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action. The Greyhounds won by scores of 30-28, 30-19 and 30-27. Loyola improves to 9-23 on the season and 7-10 in conference play while the Broncs fall to 7-19 overall and 5-12 in the MAAC.
The Greyhound attack was led by freshman Karlee Woodward who recorded 12 kills with a .310 hitting percentage. She also added three blocks. Woodward was followed by senior Blair Snyder and freshman Chrissey Cruz with seven kills each. Cruz, the setter, tallied 24 assists. Freshman Nicole Scimeme recorded a game-high 24 digs. Snyder followed with 17 and freshman Kristen Muscarella added 11.
For Rider, Megan Smith recorded a team-high 15 kills. Lacey Johnson added 10. Setter Shannon Bures dished out 21 assists while JoAnna Winter added 13. Amy Jeary recorded 23 digs while Johnson recorded 13.
Loyola wraps up the regular season on Saturday at home when it hosts Fairfield.
