Riverdale, N.Y. - The Loyola College volleyball team fell to Manhattan College, 3-2, in a five game Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match. The Jaspers won games one and two by scores of 30-24 and 30-18 respectively before the Greyhounds came back and took games three and four 30-26 and 30-22. Manhattan earned the win with a 15-11 score in the deciding game. Loyola falls to 8-22 on the season and 6-9 in conference play. Manhattan improves to 11-17 overall and 8-8 in the MAAC.
Senior Blair Snyder led the Greyhound attack with 23 kills. She also added 21 digs and six block assists. Sophomore Rachel Schillinger added 10 kills, two solo blocks and seven block assists while freshman Karlee Woodward recorded nine kills, one solo block and eight block assists. Freshman setter Chrissey Cruz dished out 41 assists and 11 digs. Freshman libero Kimi Gabriel recorded a team-high 22 digs while classmate Anastasia Collins added 11.
For Manhattan, Candice Watson recorded a game-high 24 kills while adding 13 digs. Meghan Plunkett and Sherryta Stokes each recorded 12 kills. Stokes added 15 digs. Whitney Judkins rounded out the top hitters with 10 kills. Setter Alyssa Getzel tallied 60 assists while Ashley Watson recorded a game-high 27 digs.
Loyola remains on the road, visiting Rider on Thursday, November 9.
