Volleyball Takes Third Set, Can't Close Out Siena

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Loyola hit .387 the match's third set, and Christina Greenup posted eight kills in the frame, but the Greyhounds could not continue their offense in the fourth, losing to Siena, 25-21, 25-15, 22-25, 25-9, Sunday afternoon in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match.

After putting away 16 kills with just four errors on 31 swings in the third, Loyola (6-23 overall, 2-12 MAAC) hit -.171 in the fourth with 12 errors and only five kills.

Greenup led the Greyhounds with 16 kills and 17 digs for her second double-double in four matches. Greenup has now posted 12 or more kills in each of Loyola's last five matches.

Siena (15-11, 12-2) hit .391 in the match, paced by 17 kills by Burgandy McCurty. The Saints' middle blocker also had 15 digs and five total blocks.

Kau'I Robello and Kelly Hummell posted 13 and 12 kills, respectively, for the Saints.

Nina Camaioni had nine kills and 10 digs for the Greyhounds, and Rachel Schillinger recorded eight kills.

Loyola returns to Reitz Arena on Saturday, November 8, for a 2 p.m. match against Rider. The Greyhounds then host Saint Peter's at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 9.
