After going down by as many as five in the early going of the first set, the Greyhounds rallied to tie the score at 21-21 on a Micah Duzey service ace. The Leopards, however, scored three unanswered points on a Loyola service error and two Samantha Volk aces, to take control of the opening frame.
Loyola later led throughout much of the third set, taking a 20-18 advantage on a Lukas kill. Lafayette drew even two points later on another Volk ace.
The teams traded sideouts before Lukas put Loyola up 22-21 with a kill. Lafayette strung together three-straight points after that and closed the match two points later.
Duzey led Loyola with nine digs, and Anna Eckstein added eight. Both Duzey and Eckstein recorded a pair of aces.
