Princess Anne, Md. - The Loyola College volleyball team swept the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Wednesday night 3-0 in a non-conference match-up. The Greyhounds won by game scores of 34-32, 30-23 and 30-28. Loyola improves to 6-16 overall while the Hawks fall to 14-14.
Loyola was led by freshman Christina Greenup with 14 kills. She was followed by Becky Corb with 12 kills and a game-high hitting percentage of .478. As a team Loyola's (.336) hitting percentage topped UMES (.243). Setter Krystal Biegaj tallied 44 assists and Jamie Arndt was credited with 19 digs.
For the Hawks, Jana Milin hit a game-high 26 kills and tallied a team-high 11 digs.
The Greyhounds return to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on Saturday, October 30 when they host Rider.
