BALTIMORE - American University hit .442 with just eight errors, and the Eagles swept host Loyola University Maryland, 25-9, 25-20, 25-18, on Friday night in Patriot League action at Reitz Arena.

The Eagles hit .519 in the first set and even better, .542, in the clinching third set, extending their record to 22-2 overall, 8-1 in conference play.

Krystina Lindovska had a match-high 12 kills for American, while Allison Cappellino put away 10 kills without an error in 16 swings for a .625 hitting percentage. Monica Smidova posted 34 assists on the 42 American kills.

The Eagles controlled the tempo in the first set, siding out at an 80-percent clip while allowing Loyola to side out just eight time in 24 attempts.

Jac Bullock led Loyola with nine kills, while Mindy Maloney had a match-high four blocks, two of the the solo variety.

Loyola returns to Patriot League action on Tuesday, October 29, when it travels to Annapolis, Md., to face the U.S. Naval Academy.
