BETHLEHEM, PA - Loyola's volleyball team battled hard, but fell 3-1 Wednesday night to Lehigh University in a non-conference volleyball match.
The Greyhounds took an early lead in Game One, but lost momentum and eventually the game, 30-24. Not discouraged, Loyola came out in Game Two and again took the lead and kept the advantage as coach Jen Briggs' squad won 30-28. However, Lehigh beefed up its presence at the net both offensively and defensively and proved too much for Loyola as the Mountain Hawks closed out the contest by winning Games Three and Four, 30-25 and 30-15, respectively.
Loyola's record drops to 2-18 overall, but remains at 1-0 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as the Greyhounds take to the court this weekend in a Buffalo-Niagara, NY-area road trip to play league opponents, Niagara on Saturday and Canisius on Sunday.
