Raiders Rally In First Set, Down Volleyball In Three

BALTIMORE - Jane Lukas and Molly Cichosz combined for 19 kills from the outside Sunday afternoon against Colgate University, but Loyola University Maryland lost in three to the Raiders, 25-20, 25-13, 25-12, in Patriot League competition.

The Raiders hit .256 for the match with Kenzie Hume leading the way with eight kills against a single error in 13 swings.

Lukas paced the Greyhounds with 10 kills, and Cichosz added nine. Lukas also had nine digs for the Greyhounds.

Loyola led the first set, 20-19, after a Kate Reilly attack error, but Kathleen Harris put away one of her six kills to side out for Colgate. Harris then took over at the service line with the score tied 20-20, and the Raiders scored the final five points of the set to post a set one victory.

Kelly McShea had a double-double for the Greyhounds with match-highs of 21 assists and 11 digs, while Micah Duzey added 10 digs.

The Greyhounds are on the road for their next two Patriot League matches, playing at the U.S. Naval Academy Saturday, Oct. 18, at 4 p.m., and American University Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m.
