BALTIMORE - Jane Lukas led all players with 16 kills, but Bucknell University committed just two unforced hitting errors Saturday afternoon and defeated host Loyola University Maryland, 25-16, 25-17, 25-14, in Patriot League play.
Lukas's 16 kills were a career-high for a three-set match, and she hit .263 from the outside, logging her kill total in 38 attempts with six errors. She also had nine digs for the Greyhounds.
Bucknell, however, hit .258 as a team with 31 total kills and only six hitting miscues, four coming on Loyola blocks. Karen Campbell led the Bison with eight kills, while Erika Eastley and Jordan Walker had seven each.
Mindy Maloney added five kills for Loyola and had three service aces and three blocks, and Anna Eckstein led all players with a career-high 15 digs. Kelly McShea was in on three blocks and passed out 27 assists while picking up seven digs.
The Greyhounds are back in action tomorrow with a 2 o'clock match against Colgate University in Reitz Arena.
