LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Loyola's volleyball team received 19 kills and 17 digs from freshman Susanna Leffers en route to defeating Rider 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in what was the Greyhounds' Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opener.
Head coach Jen Briggs' squad jumped out early and never looked back as it battled to 30-27 wins in Games One and Two and closed the match out with a 30-25 victory in Game Three.
Greyhound senior Megan Maguire recorded a match-high 26 digs to add to her league-leading total in that category. Maguire ranks 10th nationally in digs.
Other key Loyola contributors in today's win were Becky Corb, who nailed down eight kills and posted 10 digs, Blair Snyder, who recorded nine kills, Katie Pruitt, who tallied six kills and nine digs, and Krystal Biegaj, who dished out 26 assists.
Loyola improves to 2-17 overall and 1-0 in the MAAC with the win.
