Baltimore, Md. - Freshman Christina Greenup tallied 25 kills to lead the Greyhounds to a 3-2 win over Saint Francis Saturday afternoon at Reitz Arena. The Greyhounds improve to 5-12 on the season while the Red Flash falls to 1-19.
Loyola started out strong taking the first game 30-22, but Saint Francis came back in game two with a 30-24 win. The Greyhounds dominated game three 30-15, but fell behind early in game four and could not catch up to the Red Flash as the visitors took the stanza, 30-25. Loyola put things to rest in the deciding game however, with a 15-5 triumph.
Greenup tallied a match-high 25 kills to go with four digs. Teammates Becky Corb and Blair Snyder joined her in double digit kills with 17 and 13, respectively. Setter Krystal Biegaj finished with 54 assists. Five Greyhounds tallied double digit digs with libero Jamie Arndt leading the way with 21.
For Saint Francis, Nicole Hyer led in kills with 13 followed by Kimberly Duke with 12 and Anne Roosevelt with 10. Linda Dolanski tallied 35 assists while Roosevelt led in digs with 15. The Red Flash tallied six total team blocks.
With the win over Saint Francis, the Greyhounds win total (five) already matches the total wins they had in 2003.
Loyola is back in action on Saturday, October 16 facing Iona at 3:00.
